“Experiences of adversity and struggle are common–both in childhood and adulthood. Faith Communities are often places where people turn to process their hurts, build their resilience, and experience the loving care of others.”

Concordia Ministries in conjunction with Chicagoland Trauma Informed Congregations Network by The Center for Faith and Community Health Transformation and ReCAST  (Resilience in Communities After Stress and Trauma) are offering a 2-day workshop covering key steps that faith communities can take to foster trauma-responsive care and build resilience and hope in their members and neighborhoods. The workshop explores what trauma and resilience are and how these experiences affect us, the spiritual impact of trauma, how relationships are healing, the impact of vicarious trauma, and ways that congregations can be places of healing.

This workshop will be available at Concordia Place on Saturday, September 7th, and Saturday, September 14th. If this workshop is of interest to you, please connect with Director of Ministry Jen Phillips at jphillips@concordiafaith.org.
