The Summer season is a wonderful time to relax, rejuvenate, and warm-up for the Fall. I hope you are enjoying this great summer.
As you’ll see below, our church life reflects this summer Season:
- Summer worship services continue in a more relaxed atmosphere at 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. every Sunday at Concordia Church on Seeley through September 8th
- Our outdoor space has been refreshed and rejuvenated, with special thanks to the volunteers who were able to help
- Seventeen people have participated in reflective assessments and initial discussions using our Strength Finders class workshop and Spiritual Gifts assessment
- Plans for Fall around Children’s Church, Confirmation, worship services, our mission outreach, and more have begun and will continue in the coming weeks.
Jeri Reeder has accepted the role of Interim Parish Administrator for Concordia Church (part-time). This temporary role has been designed to delegate parish administration functions off of the current Director of Ministry’s (Jen Phillips) plate and, during the interim basis, engage in developing a job description for a permanent role of Parish Administrator for the church. This transition allows Jen Phillips to now be able to give full attention to the Director of Mission Development role, with primary responsibilities for our mission expansion project. In addition to the Parish Administration tasks, Jeri will also work on special projects to improve the administrative functions of the church, for example, transitioning the current database and communication tools to a new platform.
Joseph Calderone will continue in his role as Administrative Assistant. Continue to reach out to Joseph with all matters regarding the church as you have done previously.
We’re delighted that Jeri Reeder has already begun her new role. As many of you know, Jeri has been a part of the Concordia family for 13 years, and through multiple touchpoints with our organizations, has demonstrated her heart for enhancing all that Concordia has to offer with our community.
Of course, this does not fully encapsulate everything that’s happened at Concordia this summer. Connecting people to the love of Jesus takes many forms with many volunteers to make it happen. Thank you for being a part of the Concordia community, and I look forward to seeing you soon.
